The Six Day War: 50 Years Later

The Six Day War was a remarkable historic moment in the history of Israel and the Jewish people. This session will explore the importance of the Six Day War for the security of Israel, the significance of the re-unification of Jerusalem and the continued problem faced by Israel with regard to the occupation of the West Bank, the Temple Mount conflict and other issues. We will be using the Jerusalem University’s excellent series on the Six Day War and Jerusalem to illustrate points throughout the presentation.
Samuel M. Edelman, PhD, is professor emeritus, California State University, Chico (CSUC) and director of Teaching the Shoah in Higher Education project. He is an academic fellow of the Sue and Leonard Miller Center for Contemporary Judaic Studies of the University of Miami. Professor Edelman is also executive director of the Academic Council for Israel.
