ART

Jazzy Art with Miss Tara • Grades K-5:

Children create art using a variety of media including mosaics, drawing, painting and ceramics.

BUILD & CREATE

Lego® Robotics • Grades K-5:

Kids build Lego® robots that move, spin and roll using Lego technical parts and motors. Each creation has a unique and dynamic mechanism bringing the robots to life.

Stop Motion Animation • Grades K-5:

Have you ever wanted to see your child's stories come to life? Kids will learn to create a story using stop-motion animation. Similar to making a flip-book, students take digital pictures and group them together in time-sequence to produce a motion video. The videos may be completed individually or with a group of friends.

COOKING

Beginner Cooking • Grades 1-5:

Children can learn basic cooking skills with Shlima. They will enjoy making culinary kid-friendly recipes. At the end of each session, each child will bring home the recipes created in class.

DANCE

Hip Hop Kidz®:

In this nationally known dance program your child will learn the latest hip hop moves from his or her favorite music videos and TV shows, in a fun, easy to learn method. The classes are great fun for boys and girls ages 5-17. Each child will also have the opportunity to participate in our year end recital. Classes are taught by our totally awesome Hip Hop Kidz instructor, Quency Gordon.

DANCE THROUGH THE AGES

Ultimate Dancing Feet Ballet/Tap/Jazz • Ages 5-6

Dance Through the Ages is dedicated to offering the highest quality dance instruction in a fun, positive and encouraging atmosphere.  Students will learn technique, vocabulary and skills, while having a great time.

"This workshop" class allows students to experience a variety of dance styles. Dancers learn technique and terminology in ballet, tap and jazz, with a concentration on how all the forms of dance connect. Upbeat music and an emphasis on "fun" allow students to explore their own love of dance. Ballet & tap shoes required.

This class is perfect for beginners or young dancers who have taken dance before. The class concentrates on the fundamentals of ballet and tap and incorporates a variety of music and rhythms that children love. Ballet & tap shoes required.

This class is specifically for kids who have at least 3 years yoga experience. It will explore more advanced poses that incorporate balance and form and includes meditation as part of each session.

KidsFit with ProfessorFit • Ages 6-10:

Your kids can train with the JCC's own Ysaac Kaplan. With interest in kids' fitness at an all-time high, we are offering the perfect class and a variety of ways for kids to get in shape, stay fit, and learn to live a healthy life. Your kids will learn the basics of getting fit; to stretch properly; to exercise on treadmills; and run through an obstacle course. Each class will start with a warm up, followed by different exercises each week.

Xpress Zone • Grades 6-12:

This high-intensity interval training (HIIT) class is divided into intervals of strength and cardiovascular training. It builds strength, improves endurance, increases energy, burns calories and at. Each 50-minute workout utilizes treadmills, rowing machines and heart rate monitors to track time spent in each zone and calories burned, and yields results.

GYMNASTICS

Dynamic Gymsters Levels I & II • Ages 5-6:

Dance Through the Ages offers a gymnastics program in which students learn proper tumbling techniques, balance, flexibility, body positions and safety. They focus on building a solidfoundation of tumbling skills, as well as continued progression of skills, including (but not limited to) handstands, bridges, back bends, cartwheels, rolls, walkovers and various combinations. Correct technqiue is emphasized for all tumbling skills, strength training exercises and flexibility drills. Students participate in both group and individual activities in a positive, fun atmosphere through the use of music and props.

MAGIC

Discover Magic • Grades 1-5:

Your children will love learning magic tricks during each class and promise not to make you disappear! Each magician receives custom props and a "secret" online unlock code for after-class bonus material. At the end of each session, your magician will receive a graduation wand and certificate.

Grasp Learning • Grades K-8:

It's time to unleash a joy of learning and instill pride in learning achievement.

Grasp is a personalized after-school academic support program. Participants attend 90-minute sessions guided by Grasp-certified learning coaches (coach to student ratio is 1:5). Students complete their day-to-day homework and acquire enduring study skills. Mini-workshops within Grasp sessions teach digital skills and promote individual and social play through games and movement. Grasp also offers a program tailored to middle school student needs.

The Maccabi Tikva program seeks to maintain the traditions, culture and education of our people.  We provide non-formal Jewish education by teaching history, traditions and holidays.  Our purpose is to keep our children in a cohesive group where they feel comfortable and safe maintaining their Jewish identity.  They will create lifelong friendships and ties to our community by participating in group activities, trips and seminars.
