Help Save the Senior Lunch Program

Help Save the Senior Lunch Program

We are in danger of losing our Senior Lunch program grant. For many, this is the only hot meal they get a day (and for some it may be the only meal of the day).  This program also gives these participants a chance to socialize, be a part of a larger community. Download a sample script that you can use to make the call members of the Senate Health & Human Services Appropriations Committee and urge them to not cut these critical programs that serve the seniors in our community.

A poem by a Senior Lunch program participant:
In the name of the Seniors at the Posnack J.C.C.
We ask you to think of us as “Family”
We’re your Mothers and Fathers and Grandparents too…
We’ve worked hard all our lives and now we turn to you…
Please don’t forget us in our old(er) age…
And may G-D enable you and yours to reach this stage!
It “ain’t just the chicken soup” that makes our day…
But the friendship and sociability that we can never repay.
Please-please we implore you today
Don’t take our wonderful vital Senior Programs away!
