Reports to: Membership Associate/Front Desk Coordinator
Status/Hours: Full-time (non-exempt)
Hours: Monday-Thursday: 2:30-10:30 p.m. & Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
The Front Desk staff are the “face of the center” and provide members and guests with a pleasant and welcoming environment as they enter the DPJCC. This position is responsible for creating strong relationships between the DPJCC and its current and prospective members, along with providing superior customer service. The specific duties of the front desk staff are to provide general and program information to members and guests that meet their needs related to total health and growing involvement in the DPJCC, thereby increasing member enrollment, retention and satisfaction.

The after-school senior counselor works directly with an assigned group of children as the group's leader. Applicants should be a high school graduate and should have prior experience working with children.

Reports to: Fitness Assistant
Status/Hours: Part-time (non-exempt)
Caring for and playing with members' children (ages 3 mos.-5 yrs.) while members use the facility.  Responsible for keeping the room clean and orderly, changing diapers and providing snacks, as needed,  among other responsibilities.  

Sitters will get a background and fingerprint check and have a child/infant CPR certification.

The Sports & Wellness Department is currently looking for a late afternoon and evening floor attendant(s) to join their team.  Various responsibilities include supervising fitness room, track, boxing room and yoga room, greet and assist all members in a friendly manner, spot/assist powerlifters in weight room, maintain cleanliness of exercise machines, equipment and fitness area, rack weights and perform other duties as assigned.  Ability to lift 110+ lbs. required.

The JCC Aquatics Department is currently seeking Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors to join our staff for summer camp 2016.  For questions about employment within the JCC Aquatics Department, please call Risa Spevack at 954.434.0499, ext. 120 rspevack@dpjcc.org 


  • 16+ years old.
  • Must hold current American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.
  • Must perform Lifeguard prerequisites (300 meter swim, 2 minute treading water, timed event of diving 7-10 feet and retrieving 10lb weight).
  • Maintain continuous surveillance of everyone in swimming facilities.
  • Participate in regular in-service training sessions.

Water Safety Instructor

  • 16+ years of age.
  • Must hold current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification
  • Thorough knowledge and presentation of teaching swimming and water safety skills.
  • Participate in regular in-service training sessions.


The camp counselor is responsible for assisting in implementing an inclusive and varied camp for children. They work with other camp counselors and are immediately responsible for the children's safety and participation. The counselor is committed to fulfilling all duties with ethical conduct, community stewardship, individual initiative, and responsive service. They must demonstrate leadership, management and technical skills through effective collaboration, using team resources, progressive decision making and personal responsibility while demonstrating and fostering effective communication with other camp counselors, administrative and office staff, parents, and kids.

Job Description:
The senior accountant reports to the chief financial officer and assists with the  monthly general ledger close, balance sheet and income statement analysis and balance sheet and income statement presentation.

 Specific Job Responsibilities:
Ÿ Assists with monthly general ledger month-end close, presentation of the balance sheet, income statement results and analysis to the chief financial officer

Ÿ Responsibility for the preparation of general ledger entries and reconciliations for month-end closing to close books in a timely manner

Ÿ Preparation of a monthly account analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts

Ÿ Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls

Ÿ  Other projects as assigned


Ÿ Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting

Ÿ Strong understanding of accounting theory

Ÿ Intermediate level knowledge of all accounting functions and related internal

controls, including accounts receivable, and accounts payable

Ÿ Good knowledge of US GAAP and willingness to research and resolve accounting


Ÿ  Strong analytical skills

Ÿ  Auditing skills with the ability to research and reconcile difficult accounts

Ÿ  1-4 years high volume accounting experience

Ÿ Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills with a customer

service focus

Ÿ Microsoft Excel experience a must

Ÿ Detail oriented and organized

Ÿ Ability to meet assigned deadlines

Ÿ Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees,

management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity

problem solving, and results.

Ÿ Be proactive, independent, flexible and enthusiastic


Ÿ  Experience with grants and the intricacies therein

Ÿ Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and other Microsoft Office applications a plus
