EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER

Reports to: EARLY CHILDHOOD DIRECTOR
Status/Hours: FULL-TIME / PART-TIME (NON-EXEMPT)

To provide a safe, nurturing and child-centered learning environment, developmentally appropriate to the age/growth level of the children assigned, where young children’s skills and self- concepts are enhanced, independence and exploration encouraged, and, individuality respected. To be able to communicate effectively with the parents of the children in your care and to work collegially with the faculty of the JCC early childhood educational center.

AFTER-SCHOOL SENIOR COUNSELOR

Reports to: Children and Family Services Director
Status/Hours: Part-time (exempt)

The David Posnack JCC After-School program is looking for senior counselors to join our staff. Lead activities for the group and help children learn new skills and maintain positive attitude and working relationship with co-counselor. From 2 p.m. until all children have left or been accounted for.

EARLY CHILDHOOD INFANT CAREGIVER/ASSISTANT TEACHER

Reports to: Early Childhood Director
Status/Hours: Full-time (non-exempt)

The David Posnack JCC Susan & Saul Singer Early Childhood Learning Center is expanding its infant/toddler section and is seeking f/t, year-round caregivers/assistant teachers to work with infants and very young toddlers. Interested parties should: ideally have a CDA and the DCF required 40 hours; must be eligible for a Level 2 Background check; love caring for and nurturing very young children; be committed to the safety and well-being of infants in daycare; want to be a part of a team. Our center is well-known for its high quality care, safe, clean, nurturing, fully licensed and accredited program.

ASSISTANT FITNESS DIRECTOR

Reports to: Fitness Director
Status/Hours: Full-Time (Exempt)

Assists in planning, development, an implementation of all fitness programs including Special Events. Supervise the fitness room, track, boxing rooms and studios. Assist with maintenance of fitness equipment and ensure appropriate use of all equipment.

PART-TIME FRONT DESK STAFF

Reports to: Front Desk Supervisor
Status/Hours: Part-time (non-exempt)

The Sports & Wellness Front Desk are the "face of the center" and provide members and guests with a pleasant and welcoming environment as they enter the DPJCC. This position is responsible for creating strong relationships between the DPJCC and its current and prospective members, along with providing superior customer service. The specific duties of the front desk staff are to provide general and program information to members and guests that meet their needs related to total health and growing involvement in the DPJCC, thereby increasing member enrollment, retention and satisfaction.

SPORTS & WELLNESS FITNESS ATTENDANT(S)

REPORTS TO: YSAAC KAPLAN
STATUS:
 PART-TIME (NON-EXEMPT)

The Sports & Wellness Department is currently looking for afternoon and evening floor attendant(s) to join their team.  Various responsibilities include supervising fitness room, track, boxing room and yoga room, greet and assist all members in a friendly manner, spot/assist powerlifters in weight room, maintain cleanliness of exercise machines, equipment and fitness area, rack weights and perform other duties as assigned.  Ability to lift 110+ lbs. required.

AQUATICS DEPARTMENT

The JCC Aquatics Department is currently seeking Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors to join our staff.  For questions about employment within the JCC Aquatics Department, please call Julie Sevilla at 954.434.0499, ext. 360 • jsevilla@dpjcc.org

Lifeguard

  • 16+ years old.
  • Must hold current American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.
  • Must perform Lifeguard prerequisites (300 meter swim, 2 minute treading water, timed event of diving 7-10 feet and retrieving 10lb weight).
  • Maintain continuous surveillance of everyone in swimming facilities.
  • Participate in regular in-service training sessions.

Water Safety Instructor

  • 16+ years of age.
  • Must hold current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification
  • Thorough knowledge and presentation of teaching swimming and water safety skills.
  • Participate in regular in-service training sessions.
