EARLY CHILDHOOD FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST/SECRETARY 

The David Posnack JCC Susan & Saul Singer Early Childhood Learning Center is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented front desk receptionist/secretary. This is a full-time, year-round position for the pre-school and pre-school summer camp. The right person will: be friendly and smiling, calm under pressure, able to multi-task at a front desk with phones, computer, intercoms, managing security doors. The DPJCC has a very diverse family population; the front desk receptionist must be open to varied lifestyles and cultures. Flexibility is important and the willingness to work as a part of a team.

 EARLY CHILDHOOD INFANT CAREGIVER/ASSISTANT TEACHER 

The David Posnack JCC Susan & Saul Singer Early Childhood Learning Center is expanding its infant/toddler section and is seeking full-time, year-round caregivers/assistant teachers to work with infants and very young toddlers. Interested parties should: ideally have a CDA and the DCF required 40 hours; must be eligible for a Level 2 Background check; love caring for and nurturing very young children; be committed to the safety and well-being of infants in daycare; want to be a part of a team. PART-TIME FRONT DESK STAFF

Reports to: Front Desk Supervisor
Status/Hours: Part-time (non-exempt)
The Sports & Wellness Front Desk are the "face of the center" and provide members and guests with a pleasant and welcoming environment as they enter the DPJCC. This position is responsible for creating strong relationships between the DPJCC and its current and prospective members, along with providing superior customer service. The specific duties of the front desk staff are to provide general and program information to members and guests that meet their needs related to total health and growing involvement in the DPJCC, thereby increasing member enrollment, retention and satisfaction.

AFTER-SCHOOL SENIOR COUNSELORS

BABYSITTERS

Reports to: Sports and Wellness Associate
Status/Hours: Part-time (non-exempt); Monday – Thursday 8:00-11:45am, Tuesday, and Thursday 6:00-8:00pm. (or any combination of days).
Caring for and playing with members' children (ages 3 mos.-5 yrs.) while members use the facility.  Responsible for keeping the room clean and orderly, changing diapers and providing snacks, as needed,  among other responsibilities.  

Sitters will get a background and fingerprint check and have a child/infant CPR certification. Applicant must loves children, and be a hard worker who is willing work with children 3 months to 5 years. Applicants must submit to and pass a level two background check and be child/infant CPR/AED certified.

SPORTS & WELLNESS FITNESS ATTENDANT(S)

REPORTS TO: YSAAC KAPLAN
STATUS:
 PART-TIME (NON-EXEMPT)

The Sports & Wellness Department is currently looking for a late afternoon and evening floor attendant(s) to join their team.  Various responsibilities include supervising fitness room, track, boxing room and yoga room, greet and assist all members in a friendly manner, spot/assist powerlifters in weight room, maintain cleanliness of exercise machines, equipment and fitness area, rack weights and perform other duties as assigned.  Ability to lift 110+ lbs. required.

AQUATICS DEPARTMENT

The JCC Aquatics Department is currently seeking Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors to join our staff for summer camp 2017.  For questions about employment within the JCC Aquatics Department, please call Risa Spevack at 954.434.0499, ext. 120 • rspevack@dpjcc.org 

Lifeguard

  • 16+ years old.
  • Must hold current American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.
  • Must perform Lifeguard prerequisites (300 meter swim, 2 minute treading water, timed event of diving 7-10 feet and retrieving 10lb weight).
  • Maintain continuous surveillance of everyone in swimming facilities.
  • Participate in regular in-service training sessions.

Water Safety Instructor

  • 16+ years of age.
  • Must hold current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification
  • Thorough knowledge and presentation of teaching swimming and water safety skills.
  • Participate in regular in-service training sessions.
