October 7 Memorial Event

The JCC is hosting a community event commemorating the events of October 7. The evening will include a screening of the film "Three Days in October" the unveiling of an October 7 memorial installation and the "Lines of Hope" art exhibition.

Three Days in October offers a powerful, firsthand look at the October 7 attack through the experiences of soldiers, families, and others directly impacted by the events in southern Israel.

The "Butterflies of Memory & Hope" Memorial - We are inviting members of the community to write messages of hope and remembrance on orange paper butterflies. The butterflies will be displayed throughout the JCC lobby. The goal is to honor the memory of the Bibas family while creating a meaningful atmosphere of remembrance throughout the JCC. The Bibas family has become one of the most well-known and heartbreaking symbols connected to October 7. The two young children and their mother were murdered in captivity, and the family was known for their red hair. The orange butterflies are meant to honor their memory and create a visible symbol of remembrance and hope throughout the JCC.

The “Lines of Hope” Exhibition in Lippman Reception Room will present inspiring stories of hope from October 7.
