Cultural Arts The Overlap Program

Combating and Educating Against Antisemitism Through Open Dialogue

Celebrate cultural diversity through comedy, music, art, literature and film as we bring together communities and creators from different backgrounds. The Overlap reminds us that the differences that divide us are far smaller than the common ground we share. This program is generously funded by the Sam Berman Charitable Foundation and presented in collaboration with the David Posnack JCC’s George Gottlieb Institute, the Mania and Max Nudel Holocaust Learning Center and the Jewish Federation of Broward County.

Speaking Up In Every Key: A Musical Conversation | Seth Rudetsky with Special Guests
Sunday, February 22, 2026
Broadway stars lead a powerful program exploring antisemitism, discrimination and the role of the arts in speaking out. Blending live music with candid conversation, the event highlights how identity, visibility and creative expression can challenge hate, foster allyship and inspire connection.

LIVE2TELL | Gillian Laub
April 28-29, 2026
Award-winning photographer and filmmaker Gillian Laub will lead two programs during her visit. She will first engage high school students in a session on memory, identity and the power of visual storytelling, encouraging them to think critically about how images shape personal and collective narratives. She will also lead a LIVE2TELL photo shoot with local Holocaust survivors, capturing formal portraits and recording personal stories.

Breaking Bread
We are proud to present Breaking Bread, a special series that brings communities together through the universal language of food. Featuring local, national and international chefs, the program celebrates cultural traditions, sparks dialogue and creates meaningful connections. By sharing meals and stories, we unite diverse communities and highlight the common ground we share.

As part of the Overlap, we are offering free learning sessions and tours to the Mania and Max Nudel Holocaust Learning Center.
