In-person and virtual enrichment classes for those with developmental disabilities

GIBCONNECT PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN & ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES 
FOR AGES 6 AND UP

The David Posnack JCC provides programs for those with developmental disabilities that provide opportunities to learn life skills, be creative, build strength, confidence and coordination, socialize and make friendships.
GibConnect’s mission is to help participants stay connected, either in-person or virtually (through Zoom).

CLASS SCHEDULE: January 5-May 28, 2026
No Classes - Jan 18, 19, 25; Feb 1, 15, 16; Mar 15-22; Apr 1-6; May 10, 24, 25
Classes marked inclusive are for children, teens and adults of all abilities.

Here is how the subscription works:

For the Spring Session (5 months total). Here’s a quick breakdown:
o 2 day option - 6 classes: $430 per month
o 3 day option - 9 classes: $570 per month
o 4 day option - 12 classes: $660 per month
o 5 day option - 15 classes: $760 per month
Choose the number of days and which days of the week you wish to attend.

Once we receive your registration, Javan or Lisa will contact you for your choice of classes per day and payment. Prices will include a 3% convenience fee.
All outstanding payments must be received before session start date.

Class Descriptions

  • ACTABILITY
    Explore the stage in our dynamic theater class! With music, acting, and dance, boost your confidence and social skills. Discover your talent for performance and join us for an end-of-year showcase! 
  • ADVENTURES OF SIGN LANGUAGE - Inclusive
    Dive into this all-inclusive an interactive class that introduces participants to the rich world of sign language, offering a complete understanding of this vibrant form of communication. 
  • ARTSY CRAFTSY
    Students work on creative projects using paints, chalk, pastels, glue and a variety of materials. Skills include coordination and fine motor skills, encouraging self-expression, choice-making and following directions. 
  • BASKETBALL
    This comprehensive class enhances basketball skills, teamwork, and coordination for all ages. Participants learn shooting, dribbling, and basketball techniques. 
  • BOOST-U
    This hands-on class equips students with essential life skills for daily independence, covering everything from basic chores to job essentials, fostering confidence and self-reliance.  *Life skills classes provided by the Jewish Federation of Broward County.

  • BREAKFAST BUNCH
    Join our Breakfast Bunch for cooking and socializing! Cook together and enjoy a tasty meal as friends come for the food, stay for the fun!
  • BUBBE'S KITCHEN
    Explore creativity, teamwork, and life skills while discovering the joy of cooking delicious food together.
  • COOKING: BACK TO BASICS 
    This class is designed to explore simple recipes and techniques to build confidence in the kitchen.
  • COSMIC PRETZEL 
    Experience tranquility with gentle stretching and meditation. Learn calming techniques, designed to nurture the mind and body.
  • DREAM TEAM ACES, in partnership with Aceing Autism
    Dream Team Aces, in partnership with ACEing Autism, empowers individuals with developmental disabilities through tennis. This class enhances motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and social interaction. Supported by Posnack Day School’s Dream Team ACEing Club and ACEing Autism, we create an inclusive environment that everyone can enjoy. 
  • FOCUS FIT
    This boxing class focuses on building physical fitness, self-discipline, and confidence in a supportive environment. Participants learn techniques, improve coordination, and enhance social skills.
  • GIB GAMES
    Sharpen your mind and make new friends in this awesome online class! Dive into various online games, solve challenging riddles, and enjoy interactive activities that boost brainpower. It's not just about learning—it's about having a blast and connecting with others in a virtual space.
  • HEALTHY, FIT AND FUN OBSTACLE COURSE
    A fitness class led by a licensed professional, incorporating body weights, obstacle courses, and exercises.  Achieve fitness benefits, improve coordination, build strength and enhance overall health.
  • HIP-HOP KIDZ DANCE 
    Learn hip-hop moves, follow along with favorite music videos. Improve coordination, agility, and body awareness while moving to the beat.
  • J-CHEER 
    Join our inclusive, co-ed cheerleading team! Learn cheers, chants, and prepare for friendly competitions in a supportive and fun environment!
  • PUPPET PERFORMERS
    Unleash your imagination in our Puppet Class! Dive into creative characterization, comedy, and improv with puppets. From skits to scripted shows, discover your unique voice in the world of puppetry!
  • READY, SET, GO FITNESS
    This class will challenge your strength and endurance using physical exercises. Participants' stamina will build through repetitive fitness tasks.
  • BASKETBALL
    This class is designed  children aged 5 to 8 years old! Our fun sessions focus on developing basic basketball skills, teamwork, and confidence in an inclusive environment.
  • SOCIAL STAGE
    This fun, creative class for children and teens uses improv to build social and communication skills.  Through acting, games and role-playing, participants will learn how to express themselves, interact in different social settings and build confidence. 
  • SUNDAY SOCIAL
    Each clinic meets once a month. Join one clinic or all three for a month of fun. Each week, spend a lively hour either perfecting your soccer skills with “Beyond the Limits Soccer”, learning the art of dance with “Rikud L’Kulam” dance group or appreciating music. It's the perfect blend for a fun-filled Sunday. 
  • THE VOICE IN U, A CHORUS ENSEMBLE
    Music is a powerful outlet for emotions. The Voice in U class boosts social skills and self-esteem. 
  • YOGA
    Join us for a supportive class focused on mindfulness, movement, and relaxation techniques.
