Membership Email Update 5/18
Dear DPJCC Friends,
I hope that this letter finds you well and healthy. I truly miss seeing all of you! I love seeing everyone participating in all of our different Zoom classes and programs and can't wait to see you in person.
During this time, I have been in close communication with our local officials and monitoring the information being released by the state agencies and health organizations. I will be conducting a Zoom Town Hall call with anyone who has questions regarding our status on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at noon and again at 6:30 pm.
Click here to receive the zoom link and login information.
Please continue to read this entire notice. It may answer many of your questions.
Based on the latest update, I am thrilled to announce that we will reopen our turf fields, tennis and pickleball courts and batting cages on Tuesday, May 19.
Hours of operation:
Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
FIELDS AND COURTS
The fields are open for only passive activities, running, exercising. No team play or group activities are permitted. The tennis and pickleball courts are for single play only with a one hour and 15 minute maximum play time. You must bring your own equipment. Everything will be on a first come, first served basis.
1) will enter through the courts through the gates in the back.
2) must wear a face covering upon entering.
3) will be required to sign a waiver. Anyone under 18 must have a parent sign the waiver.
4) have his/her temperature taken upon arrival. Temperatures of 100.4 degrees and above will not be allowed to enter (per CDC guidelines).
5) must socially-distance themselves from others while playing/working out.
Click here to see the full list of rules.
Our pool is scheduled to reopen Tuesday, May 26. Hours of operation are the same as those of the fields/tennis courts. Only lap swimming will be permitted with one swimmer per lane. Again, availability is on a first come, first served basis. The splash pad will remain closed.
During this phase, there is no access inside the facility. There are outdoor showers and restrooms available. Locker rooms will not be open.
The fitness center has been cleaned and set up to ensure your health and safety. When the state and local authorities permit the reopening of gyms, we will be ready. Please check your email for an update on the fitness center.
The Susan and Saul Singer Early Childhood Learning Center will open in phases beginning June 1 at 7 a.m. Class sizes will be limited to 10 including staff. Staff will greet students at their cars and temperatures will be taken daily prior to their removal from the parent’s vehicle. Parents will not be permitted inside the preschool. Staff will escort children to and from the parent’s vehicle during drop-off/pick-up times. For all information regarding processes and procedures for preschool, please click here.
I am also thrilled to announce that we will be offering childcare programs for school-aged children over the summer. From June 8-12 for grades K-5, we offer Hangtime at the J, and from June 15 - August 7, we have an exciting new program, J Summer Days. Unfortunately, due to the current COVID-19 crisis and necessary protocols, we know we will not be able to provide the same Camp Kadima experience our campers are accustom to. However, the J Summer Days program, as well as Hangtime at the J, will offer safe and socially responsible childcare services during the summer to replace our previous Camp Kadima programming. More information about both programs will be sent out shortly. We will be conducting a second call regarding J Summer Days. Watch your emails and our website for this information.
CULTURAL ARTS AND ADULTS
All programs will remain virtual for the time being. Stay connected with JCC At Home.
Please know that our DPJCC team will take any and all steps necessary to open responsibly with the interest of your personal safety at the forefront of our decision making. All guidelines by our state and local government will be followed. Temperatures of all employees will be taken daily before start of work and all staff will wear face coverings.
Your patience and understanding during these uncertain times is truly appreciated. Know that our team is working on the safest plan to get all of you, our valued members, back into this building we call home as soon as possible.
Please keep in mind that information from our state and local agencies are changing frequently, this information may change. When there are updates, we will send an email to you and everything will be posted on our website at dpjcc.org.
It is important to note that if you are part of the vulnerable population or have underlying health conditions, we recommend you stay home and stay well.
Please take care of yourselves and your families, stay healthy and stay connected to the DPJCC. We miss you!

Membership Email Update 4/8
Dear Valued Members,
I hope this email finds everyone safe and healthy. While our doors are shut – our staff is still hard at work creating and providing you with the excellent programming you expect from our JCC. We are here for you.
JCC At Home
We’ve gone digital, launching JCC At Home, providing online resources for fitness, education, culture and fun. We have also created original, exclusive content for our preschool, teens, adults, seniors and those with special needs.
Our maintenance team has been hard at work cleaning and sanitizing the building and making repairs to the facility.
Our dedicated, creative, positive team is the backbone of our J. They continue to work so that the J will be ready to open as soon as it is safe to do so.
Your Membership Dues
We are waiving the April membership dues. Please keep in mind, our operational costs remain. As a nonprofit organization, we rely on those dues, program fees and direct donations to sustain our amazing center, programs and scholarships so that we can reopen our doors.
Many of you have asked how you can help support the JCC and our wonderful employees. Please consider donating all or part of your dues back to the J. Simply click here to make your tax-deductible donation (to the extent allowed by law).
Thank you to our wonderful community for all the support we’ve received. When we reopen, we will be stronger than ever. Our community needs us and we need each other.
Chief Executive Officer, David Posnack JCC
