There will be no classes held on September 2, 3, 9-11, 18, 19, 24, October 1, November 11-12, 21-25.

This hands-on class will focus on basic skills to help students become more independent in taking care of themselves and their home. Activities will include household chores, choosing and caring for clothing, using money, shopping, community awareness and basic job skills.

Superhero Obstacle Challenge

Superheroes can train with Ysaac, a certified personal trainer.  We offer a variety of ways that a superhero may get in shape and stay fit.  You will learn the basics of fitness, balance and coordination through obstacle courses.  Each class will start a warm-up, followed by a different obstacle course each week.

Green Thumb Club

This class includes hydroponics, growing vegetables, meal preparation and portion control (gluten-free and vegetarian options). Grocery shopping and healthy choices will be taught in a soothing environment. [Maximum 6 participants]

Hip Hop Dance Party (Registration for this class is closed)

This course is designed to teach theater to those with physical and developmental disabilities.  Volunteers work with the special needs students on and off stage. The classes enhance verbal skills, improve movement, build self-confidence and advance socialization while stimulating free thinking.  The actors help pick a theme and write a script for the class’s end of school year performance.

Boxing

This non-impact class will cover basic skills a such as stance, guard, movement, jab, cross, hook. It will include cardio calisthenics and core strengthening exercises. Participants will improve strength and balance and gain self-confidence.

The benefits of swimming for children and adults with special needs range from enhancing gross motor and cognitive skills, to increasing muscle strength, endurance and improvement in overall communication skills.  Swimming fosters courage, confidence, trust and helps to develop friendships.  It' is great for socialization and relaxation.

This class includes fun and engaging hands-on activities to help students learn life skills necessary to achieve self-sufficiency and success as an independent member of society. Activities will include managing money and finances; decision making; vocational opportunities; finding a job; and skills and habits needed for work. Participants will use computers for prevocational activities.

This is a comprehensive class that will enhance skills, teamwork and sportsmanship for all ages. Students will learn skills in shooting, passing and dribbling and techniques in offense and defense.

Cooking for Daily Living

This class will focus on basic life skills for planning and preparing simple meals for daily living. Students will have fun learning to use kitchen appliances and tools while making meals that can be replicated in their home setting.

This class will teach the skills for multiple sports including basketball, soccer and kickball. Players will build stamina, agility and coordination while learning the new skills.

This fun dance class will include hip hop moves and all your favorite follow-alongs and line dances like the Electric Slide, and many more! Dancers will improve coordination, agility and body awareness while moving to the music.

Artsy-Craftsy

Students will work on creative projects using paints, chalk, pastels, glue and a variety of materials. Skills enhanced include coordination and motor skills, encouraging self-expression, choice-making, and following directions. Completed works will be displayed in an art show near the end of the session.

The Magic of Music

Students will explore their creative side through the magic of music.  Music can be an entry point to facilitate the ability to share thoughts, needs and opinions with others.  This magical feeling created by music will assist with decision-making, problem-solving, critical thinking, effective communication skills and interpersonal relationships. This course will uncover the best in persons with diverse abilities and open the door to self-confidence and self-esteem.

This fun and creative class explores the magic of movies and music videos. Students will be the “star of the show” as they participate in the creation and production of a short video. Making movies with new friends encourages socialization and speech. Students will develop and review their scripts, which aids in comprehension and fluidity.
