American Red Cross Lifeguard Training
Training provides entry-level participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.
Participants who successfully complete the lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross certificate for lifeguarding/first aid/CPR/AED which is valid for 2 years.
Prerequisites
• Candidates must be at least 15 years of age to apply for the training course. Course is in English and is a combination of online and in-class training.
Swim 300 yards continuously
• Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs
• Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds by starting in the water, swimming 20 yards,
surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards on back to return to the starting point, exit the water without using steps or a ladder.

February 9 and 16: 9:00 AM-6:00 PM *GIRLS ONLY CLASS
March 9 and 16: 9:00 AM-6:00 PM *BOYS ONLY CLASS
March 25, 26 and 27: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
April 25: 4:00 pm-6:00 PM; April 27 and May 4: 9:00 AM-6:00 PM

Fee: $346
Once registered for the course, you can launch the online portion at any time. $300 must be paid prior to attending class. Participants must complete the online portion of the course prior the first classroom meeting time listed above.
