Bringing light, connection and comfort to adults with cancer
RISE is an inspiring new hospital-based initiative bringing joy, comfort and meaningful human connection to adults undergoing cancer treatment and their caregivers across South Florida. Inspired by Sunrise on Wheels, RISE extends that same spirit of care and companionship beyond pediatrics. As a signature program of the David Posnack Jewish Community Center, RISE supports patients during treatment and beyond through hospital visits, social and recreational gatherings, creative arts, wellness activities, community outings and milestone celebrations. Through shared experiences and meaningful relationships, RISE fosters friendship, hope and resilience—helping ensure that no one faces cancer alone.
Our mission: To bring moments of joy, comfort and emotional uplift to adults in medical care and their caregivers, one visit, one smile, one act of kindness at a time.
Our volunteer teams visit hospital oncology and infusion units offering comfort, connection and creativity, always with a friendly smile to foster a moment of joy.
