Maya Sharon | Director of Jewish Engagement

Maya Sharon is the Director of Jewish Engagement at the David Posnack Jewish Community Center, where she works to bring Israel, Jewish identity, and community connection to life through meaningful programs and experiences.

Born and raised in Israel, Maya’s journey into Jewish communal work began in 2014, when she served as a Shlicha (Israeli emissary) at a Jewish summer camp in Irvine, California. She arrived just one week before Operation Protective Edge began. With friends serving in the Israeli military and her family mourning the loss of a close friend during the war, Maya watched from afar as Israel was often misunderstood and misrepresented in the media and in conversations around her. She made a personal decision that she needed to speak up and share Israel through her own eyes.

That summer shaped the path she would ultimately pursue. After returning to Israel, Maya worked for the Jewish Agency for Israel and earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Sociology, and Anthropology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

After three years as a flight attendant with EL AL, Maya moved to Long Island, New York, in 2020 to join her husband, Tal. There, she worked at the Sid Jacobson JCC as the Center for Israel Coordinator, creating Israel-focused programs, events, and experiences for the community.

In September 2025, Maya, Tal, and their daughter, Alex, moved to Florida. Today, she is proud to continue the journey that began in 2014 by bringing Israel to life at the David Posnack JCC and creating meaningful connections between Israel and the local Jewish community.

Yuval Alon | Maccabi Tzair Director

 Yuval Alon brings extensive experience with Maccabi Tzair to his role as Director of Maccabi Tzair at the David Posnack JCC. Before stepping into this position, he served as a Maccabi World Union Shaliach, strengthening Maccabi programming and building connections between Jewish communities in Israel and South Florida.

With over six years of experience in Jewish organizational work, leadership education, and organizational strategy development, Yuval brings a well-rounded foundation to his current role.

Yuval moved to South Florida in 2022 to support the JCC Maccabi Games & Access, and was part of the team that helped plan and execute the 2023 Games in Fort Lauderdale.

Today, Yuval is focused on growing Maccabi Tzair and developing the next generation of Jewish leaders through informal education, leadership development, and meaningful connections to Jewish identity, Israel, and the Maccabi Tzair movement.

His passion for youth leadership, community building, and strategic relationship development continues to shape the way he empowers the Madrichim and Chanichim he works with every day.

Aaron Vainrub | Director of Operations

Aaron Vainrub was born in Venezuela and immigrated to the United States in 2015. As a Rosh (youth leader) of the Maccabi Tzair program in Venezuela, Aaron brings with him valuable experience and passion for teaching Jewish and Zionistic values. Through the Machon Le Madrichim organization in Israel, he acquired a leadership certificate. After moving to the United States, he attended the University of Central Florida, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations. In 2019, Aaron joined the DPJCC as the Assistant Director of Maccabi Tzair.

Oren Enzwaig |Maccabi World Union & Community Shaliach

Orens first Shlichut was as a Shinshin from JAFI and Partnership together at Cincinnati, Ohio, in 2013. But his love for working with the Jewish world didn’t start or stop there.

 After his first Shlichut, he joined the service as a combat soldier and later as a commander and a Sargent in several positions.

 Coming back to Maccabi was a natural decision, and he returned after his service to serve as a branch coordinator in Hedera. After three amazing years, he became a regional director, but his passion for working with Jewish people around the world drew him, and he established the Foreign Relations department in Maccabi Tzair.

 Oren has a degree in Political Science and a specialization in Middle East International Affairs, knowledge he will bring to his Shlichut.

 Oren always believed in setting an example for others, so he decided to join the MWU Shlichim team. In October 2025, he went on a Shlichut at the David Posnack JCC in Fort Lauderdale.

 At the Shlichut, he will work to strengthen the community's connection to Israel and MWU, leading educational content and events about Israel. Working to support the growth of the Maccabi Tzair branch in Fort Lauderdale, supporting the work of the local shinshinim, working on the establishment of “Maccabi Florida”, engaging the American-Israeli community, and much more.
