Rebecca Fajgenbaum Harlev | Maccabi Tzair Coordinator
Born and raised in Panama, Rebecca dedicated her time to working with youth. She founded a nonprofit movement called Proyecto Contigo, composed of high school-aged volunteers whose goal was to support education in low-income areas through chess and art lessons. She also volunteered at a daycare for children whose families had cancer and organized various fundraisers for both organizations. None of this would have been possible without the support of the Jewish community. After moving to Miami for college, Rebecca realized how privileged she had been to be raised so in tune with Israel and Jewish values. As the Maccabi Tzair Coordinator, her goal is to ensure that every madrich and chanich feels just as connected to those Jewish values and Israeli culture as she did growing up, and to carry those values and lessons for life. |
